GET UP SLEEPYHEAD! Getting The Proper Start For Your Day

Sleep. Who doesn’t love sleep? It’s the pinnacle of relaxation – warm covers, fluffy pillows, soft comforter…just thinking about it makes my eyes droop a bit. But if you’re here on WhoRAHS, you know that sleep is not what we are about. Time is a-wasting once the alarm sounds – and you’ve got to go.

Here’s what some success superstars have to say about sleep…

“I’ve never really viewed myself as particularly talented. Where I excel is ridiculous, sickening work ethic.

You know, while the other guy’s sleeping, I’m working. While the other guys’ eating, I’m working.”

-Will Smith

“Sleep is for those people who are broke.”

-50 Cent

And in the most sobering of quotes…

“I can sleep when I’m dead.”

-Jason Michael Carroll

Based on what our success superstars said, you can be certain where their priorities lie. If you are a driven individual and you have a vision you want to manifest, you are going to have to relinquish the comfort of your dreams and settle happily for reality. If you still want to keep to the covers, sweet dreams! But if you’re ready to get moving, here’s the five-step brief on what you’ve got to do:

downloadWaking Up 101

1. Plan a morning routine.
2. Set your alarm.
3. Go to sleep.
4. Wake up after alarm.
5. Follow through with morning routine.

Easy enough, right?

If you want a little bit more detail, here’s some tips and tricks:

–          The most important step is the first: planning your morning routine. Do this when you are in a resourceful and fully conscious state of mind and make it easier on yourself to make the steps simple and easy to follow, particularly for the sleep-drunk manic version of yourself in the mornings.

–          Once you’ve set what you will do in the morning, it’s a no thinking deal and you only have to do steps 2-5 every day.

–          Turn on the lights as soon as you can.

–          Also, I highly recommend drinking around 1.5 L of water upon waking to flush out any toxin build up in your body. It’s also a great for waking up.

–          AND ABOVE ALL…IF THERE’S ANYTHING THAT WILL BE SO DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR CAPABILITIES TO WAKE UP, In no way, shape, or form should you dare try to engage in dialogue with your mind. Trust that you have created a morning routine that is beneficial for yourself and follow it blindly.  You will be completely fine not thinking in this situation because all the thinking was done when you were in a fully conscious state of mind. Engaging your mind in dialogue will only get you back under the covers.

In conclusion…Now, yes, I do understand that sleep is very important for your ideal brain function. You need sleep to think clearly, stay focused for longer, and for cognitive development. It is a bit ridiculous to forego full nights of sleep to get more work done. But implicit in the argument is that you slept late so you now have to wake up early.

You need to understand that there are people who have full days and still wake up fully rested. They did this by taking massive action and not wasting a second of their day. I am one of those people. And it’s not that hard – with a bit of planning you can do it too. Future article on the “how-to” coming soon!
